Posted by Sigma957 [robohn@mafb.ndak.net] on March 05, 1999Here is a simple scenario idea that was alot of fun for my group. Place a raised area in the middle of the map about 2" high. Decorate the rest of the table with whatever terrain you like. The first army that can keep a model on the raised area (ours was 6"x6") for X number of turns (we used 5 turns) wins.
This gives a clear objective, and seemed to force some heavy CC. Missile troops are nice to shoot people off the objective, but the CC troops have to take the area to build up the time. I won only by having my last Repusar Knight be a human shield for a swordsman who had been on the 'dais' the required time....

I built a Stonehenge style stone circle terrain piece a while back, and we decided to run a scenario using four armies. All you had to do to win was enter the stone circle and keep everyone else out for two consecutive rounds. This means that no units other than those of your own army could be in the circle at the end of the turn, or the count started over.
To add some extra spice, we decided that any spellcasters within the stone circle were considered to be at a ley line nexus, and all spells cast by them while within the stones counted as having an automatic Concentration added to them.
We used 1500 point armies: a Devout army, an Elven army, a Dwarven army, and a Sons of Kronos army. To give the Dwarves some kind of bonus, since they don't have spells, we added an extra turn duration to the transformation of the Keepers into Totems.
Needless to say, gentle players, this one was a bloodbath... there are folks who will send suicide charges o'plenty to keep that two turn duration from coming to pass.
