Sons of Rasputin army ShoreCon BFB 999 points 8 Northern Sons (232) 8 Shock Soldats, Sergeant (271) 8 Soldat Troopers, HMG, Sergeant (180) 7 Soldat Troopers, HMG, Sergeant (163) Soldat Vicar (36) Soldat Schwerwaffe (38) Soldat Schwerwaffe (38) Soldat Flammen (41) --- Basic scheme: Soldat Troopers form the backbone of the assault, choosing offensive or defensive after seeing terrain and opponent. Pin down large avenues of fire with the Schwerwaffe. Northern Sons infiltrate to take out large group of enemy grunts, then pull out and harrass enemy back lines. Shock Soldats flank the enemies' main force, backed up with the Flammen. Send in one Soldat squad to mop up whatever is needed, or alternately cover advance of rest of army. If facing another heavy-infiltrate army, put my infiltrators just outside my deployment range to keep bulk of army safe and not expand too far. --- What happened at the BFB: The idea stayed the same, more or less. The unexpected night deployment led me to send my Northern Sons out a bit farther than usual. I also went defensive early (was facing Capitol, anotehr shooty army.) Shock Soldats took a flank, but messily. I sent the Flammen out on his own to go help my Algeroth comrade keep pressure on the Capitol forces flanking him. The Flammen didn't do much other than psychologically, however. --- Final Verdict: I proved to myself that the Rasputins can hold their own, even against a full corporate force. Granted, I wasn't facing any BFMs, so I felt no need for a rocket-launcher-replacement, but I am confident massed range fire could have done that job.
