It probably will be a while until Target gets its act together and releases the Mercury FOW book. So here are my updated home brew rules for the Mishima Shinobi for Warzone 2nd Edition which are based in part on a deconstruction of the Martian Banshees and the Ronin Samurai for point costs and the like. DESCRIPTION: The Shinobi warriors are the arrowhead unit and pride of Lord Heir Mariko, specially used for covert operations against Capitol and Imperial on the Martian Battlefields. Honed for their exceptional infiltrating ability, notorious and feared for their mystical powers. Their Martian-Red armor and helmets allow them to blend in with the ruddy terrain until they are ready to call on their innate Chi powers and descend upon their surprised foes. Unfortunately, only the most serene and balanced of Mishima warriors are able to use their Chi powers in the unnerving confusion of battle without doing some kind of permanent harm to their frail human bodies. A large proportion of Shinobi suffer from some degree of physical disfigurement due to hasty teleportation attempts in situations where they could not achieve the proper level of spiritual balance and preparation. These range from patches of cracked, blistered skin to more serious limb deformities. The most spectacular examples of fatally unbalanced Chi forces result in such instantaneous explosive dismemberment that anyone standing too close could also end up making an early departure from the battlefield. The chunky, bubbling remains of too many a Shinobi Warrior are testaments to their unwavering loyalty and devotion towards their Lord Heir and the proud Mishima Corporation. Each Shinobi must choose how many actions he wants to spend on the act of Teleporting. The more actions he uses the farther he will Teleport. · Shinobi do not need Line Of Sight to the spot they are Teleporting to. · They may Teleport into base to base contact with another model. This is treated as a normal Charge with all the appropriate bonuses. · Enemy models can not Countercharge a Teleport Charge. · The more actions, and as a consequence the more Chi energy, devoted to an instance of Teleportation the higher the risk of losing physical cohesion in the process. Every time a Shinobi Teleports he should roll on the Shinobi Teleporting Table. If he rolls high enough on the table and has a Teleporting accident then he must roll on the Risk Table to see just how severe, and possibly fatal, his Teleportation mishap turned out to be. · You may purchase a Shinobi Hero if you have at least one squad of Shinobi in your force. Shinobi Teleporting Table Actions Teleport Distance Accident 1 Up to 5" 20 on D20 2 Up to 11" 19-20 on D20 3 Up to 18" 18-20 on D20 Risk Table - Roll 1D20 and see below 1-9 - Fizzled Out The user's Chi was not properly channeled. All actions spent concentrating are wasted, and the Shinobi remains in place. 10-16 - Rearranged Organs The user's Chi lines were not perfectly aligned. Not every part of the user arrived at its destination in exactly the same internal arrangement. Roll 10 or under to take a wound. If this was a Teleport Charge do not carry out the combat, simply place the Shinobi in base to base contact with the enemy model. 17-20 - Turned Inside Out The user's Karma was catastrophically unbalanced. The Shinobi's warped, half-cooked remains appear at the destination point and burst in a shower of boiling entrails and sharp bone shards. All models touching the Small Explosion template receive a Damage 10 hit.
